Footnotes

Here’s an example of how to create footnotes. After the following sentence I want a superscript number to appear correlating with a footnote below. So, after the period in this sentence I need to include whatever information I want to appear in the note enclosed in double parentheses — make sure to include a space before the first parenthesis. ((This sentence including the punctuation is enclosed in double parentheses in my editing box.)) Be sure to look at the editing screen for this page to see how it works. WARNING: From past experience Adam Mandelman notes that occasionally minor syntax issues arise depending on stray spaces or periods, so everyone should double proof their notes.

BASIC IMAGE

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, ad qui aeterno delectus maluisset, nam ei amet dolore vivendum. This is dummy text (paragraph style) with images embedded with the text. On your editing screen, click the “Add Media” button. Upload a new image from your hard drive to your online Media Library and then choose the image you want to insert. Make sure to identify how you want the image aligned. The one at the left is “Align left” and the image below is “align right”. (Also, this non-Latin-gibberish is in bold. Simply click the “B” button on your edited screen or highlight the text as you would in a word processor and type contrl-b or apple-b.) Finally, if you want your images to have captions, on your editing screen click the image, then the pencil button and add a caption. The one at the left has no caption but the one below does. Cum at nobis nominavi oportere, quod probo te cum. Est ei pericula accusamus, et pro oblique appellantur, clita facete scripta ad nam. Eos alia summo conclusionemque an. Amet dico ocurreret nec ex, errem oportere persecuti his ei, mel ne alienum disputationi. To add a video from Youtube or Vimeo just copy and paste the url into a single line in your editing screen.

To create a heading like the one above, on your editing screen click the drop down box just above your text and image editing box and select “Heading 1”. To create an image gallery click the “Add Media” button. Then click “Create Gallery” on the upper left. Upload new images or select some from your Media Library that have already been uploaded. Then click “Create a new gallery” in the bottom right corner. Make sure to include captions if you want them for each image. Under gallery settings, this gallery has the following settings:

Link to: Attachment page (which causes a slide show to open up when an image is clicked. If you prefer, when the image is clicked, to simply display the original image file, then select “Media file.”)
Columns: 4
Random Order: the box is NOT checked. The images are displaying in the order they were added to the gallery.
Size: thumbnail (I recommend this setting. With the other settings, if the images aren’t the same size dimensions they often don’t display well).
Type: thumbnail grid (The others setting are “slideshow” and various tiled mosaic options — you can decide your preference. For an example of the slideshow type see the second gallery at the very bottom).

If you want to edit a gallery you’ve already created, on your editing screen click on the gallery and then click the pencil button.
